4 Months

The pictures just keep getting harder and harder to take!!
Zoey weighed 11lbs 12 oz when we went to the doctor, a little on the small side but he said she is doing GREAT and is happy, healthy and doing great developmentally. However he did say that she is in the 96 percentile for height, we might have a tall little girl on our hands!!

Recipe #3 - Bacon and Cheddar Scones

These were all you would need for breakfast with a good cup of coffee. They were so good and super super easy to make. All it took was bacon, onion, cheddar cheese, flour, buttermilk, and a little love. I am becoming the favorite wife around the hospital....

Playing in her new toy, she just LOVES it!!

Sleeping with Pa, priceless!!

Recipe #2 - Turbo Charged Brownies

These were yummy!! They are made with expresso powder, hints the turbo charged name. The praline topping was so creamy. As with most things that I make, we ate a few and then I sent the rest to the hospital with Robert.

Zoey Talking

She was in a great mood this morning and I quickly grabbed the video camera and captured it. She had a lot to say as you can tell.

Recipe #1

Robert was so kind to let me order this pastry cookbook that I have had my eye on. So in order to show my thanks I have decided to cook everything in it at least once for him. After having lunch with a friend the other day I stopped and bought some peaches on the side of the road and thus came recipe #1.....Fried Pies (Peach) they were actually super easy to make even the dough. I am even thinking about making a batch of the dough and going ahead and cutting out the circles and then freezing them so that when we have a craving for fried pies I can just take out however many I want to make....smart, I know...

P.S. They were DELICIOUS!!!

Napping

One day last week Zoey fell asleep in my lap on the boppy after I fed her. Sometimes she will wake up when you try to put her in the crib because she is no longer warm and comfy laying against you. So I thought to myself, "What if I just lay her in the crib on the boppy?" My plan worked. She took a great nap that day!!

Breakfast or Dessert??

Have you ever seen the commercials for Nutella? Well I have always wondered what it really taste like. It shows a mom feeding it to her kids in the morning for breakfast so I decided to give it a try.........

The commercial shows having it on toast, so that is what I did.....

All I can say is that Zoey will prob. not be allowed to eat this for breakfast unless I want to give her a sugar high. It was SOOOO good but more like dessert than breakfast to me. This would be really good on apples, or cookies etc. Don't get me wrong it was good on the toast but I don't know that I would consider it a well balanced breakfast for little kids.

Zoey Rolling Over

We have been having lots of "Tummy Time" in the last few weeks. She has rolled over a few times but I never managed to catch it on video. Today I finally mastered it. Most of the time she enjoys Tummy Time but not so much during this video. However you can see that she does roll over.

Going for Walks

Lately Zoey and my mom and I have been going for a little walk each night once it starts to cool off outside (if that is even possible in this Texas heat). She absolutely loves being outside. She will sit in the stroller and talk the entire time. But the moment that we take her out of the stroller and walk into the house she will start to fuss. Yes she is still a bit little for the stroller but she has been doing fine and enjoys being in the big girl part and not just in her infant seat.

3 Months

It is hard for me to believe that my sweet little girl is already 3 Months old. She is growing and developing so fast that I feel like if I blink I might miss something.

There are several new things that Zoey has learned in the last few weeks.
1. She has discovered her hands, and loves to "eat" them, they are constantly in her mouth which leads to her getting slobber all over the front of the outfit that she has on.

2. Recently Zoey discovered that she can make this really loud sound with her voice. This is also known as a scream.....However it is not a mad or sad scream it is a "look at how loud I can be scream"

3. She no longer wants to lay in your lap or arms unless it is bed or nap time. She wants to be sitting up looking around. She is doing awesome with her head control and has even started pulling herself forward.

Vacation

We recently took our 1st Family Vacation to Ruidoso New Mexico and along the way there we stoped at Carlsbad Caverns to take a day trip down into the Cave. We had a lot of fun on our adventure as a Family.

I carried Zoey all the way down the cave in my Moby Wrap. I am so proud of myself and she did awesome!!

At the bottom of the cave stopped to take a quick break. It was cold down there!!

Zoey Meeting Brody and her 1st Kiss

When we were in Houston looking for our new home we stayed with some of our friends "The Vorse's" who just had their 1st child, Brody about a month before Zoey was born. We put them together to get a picture of them and Brody instantly went in for a kiss. It was so funny and cute. Notice the look on Zoey's face, she is not too sure what is going on.

Zoey's Birth

Zoey Paulett Scranton was born on April 10, 2011 at 10:15pm 8lbs 5oz 19 inches long

My delivery was not like most in the fact that Zoey's Daddy is a Doctor, my doctor was kind enough to let Robert deliver her, it was such a special thing for both Robert and I and it was truly a husband and wife effort to bring our daughter into the world.

Last Belly Shot

Once again I need to do a little catching up....

Here is the last Belly Picture, I believe it was taken about a week before she was born. Yes, I know I was HUGE!! I gained way more weight than I should have but everyone was healthy.

The Arrival of our Nephew, Carter

Robert and I became an Aunt and Uncle again!! On Feb. 11, Carter Benton Bean was born!!

Getting the Nursery Ready

It is still a work in progress but we are well on our way to getting the Nursery ready. Robert has been a huge help in doing this as well as my wonderful father in law.

Phase 1- Getting rid of the horrible yellow that the people who lived here before us decided to paint the room.

Yes, it needed a second coat of paint but it already looks soooo much better. There was also new carpet that got put in so the blue is gone.

Phase 2
PUTTING THE CRIB TOGETHER!!

The finished product!!

The Growing Belly
